Terms of Service
Effective March 2026
Welcome to Coastal Craft Upholstery. By using our website or engaging our upholstery services, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully. If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
1. Service Agreement
Coastal Craft Upholstery provides custom upholstery services for residential furniture, marine vessels, outdoor furniture, commercial spaces, and leather goods throughout Monmouth County, NJ.
All estimates are non-binding. A final price is determined after an in-person assessment of the item(s) to be upholstered. Work begins only after you approve the final quote and any required deposit is received.
By requesting an estimate or hiring us for a project, you confirm that you are the owner of the item(s) or have authorization from the owner to have work performed.
2. Estimates and Pricing
- Free estimates: We provide free initial estimates based on photos, descriptions, or in-person inspections.
- Prices may vary: The actual cost may differ from the initial estimate once we inspect the item in person. Hidden damage, structural issues, or unexpected conditions can affect pricing.
- Fabric selection affects cost: The type, grade, and quantity of fabric you choose will impact the final price. We will discuss options and pricing before ordering materials.
- Quote validity: Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date provided, after which material costs may have changed.
We will always communicate any price changes before proceeding with additional work.
3. Materials and Fabrics
You have two options when it comes to fabric:
- Choose from our selection: We carry a range of high-quality upholstery fabrics suited for different uses (indoor, outdoor, marine). We can help you pick the right material for your project.
- Supply your own fabric: You're welcome to provide your own fabric. Please deliver it clean and in good condition. We recommend providing 10-15% extra to account for pattern matching and waste.
Important: We are not responsible for the quality, durability, or performance of customer-supplied fabric. If customer-supplied fabric is defective, insufficient, or unsuitable for the intended use, additional fabric may need to be purchased at your expense.
4. Project Timeline
We provide estimated completion dates for every project, but these are approximate and not guaranteed. Timelines can be affected by:
- Fabric availability and shipping times
- The complexity of the project
- Unforeseen structural repairs needed
- Our current workload
If your project is going to take longer than expected, we will let you know as soon as possible and give you an updated timeline. We do not offer refunds or discounts for timeline delays unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Deposits and Payment
- Deposit: A deposit is required before we begin work. The deposit amount varies by project and will be discussed when you approve the quote. Typical deposits are 50% of the estimated total.
- Balance due on completion: The remaining balance is due when the project is finished and ready for pickup or delivery.
- Accepted payment methods: We accept cash, check, credit card, Venmo, and Zelle.
Items will not be released until payment is received in full.
6. Pickup and Delivery
We offer pickup and delivery service throughout Monmouth County, NJ. Fees may apply depending on the size of the item and distance.
- Access: Please ensure clear access to the item for pickup and delivery. Remove surrounding furniture, clear pathways, and ensure doorways are accessible.
- Scheduling: We will coordinate pickup and delivery times that work for both of us.
- Marine work: For boat upholstery, the vessel should be accessible at a dock, marina, or trailer. We will discuss logistics before scheduling.
If we arrive for a scheduled pickup or delivery and access is not available, a return trip fee may apply.
7. Warranty
We stand behind our work. Coastal Craft Upholstery provides a one-year workmanship warranty covering:
- Seam failures
- Stitching defects
- Structural issues related to our work
What the warranty does not cover:
- Normal fabric wear, fading, or pilling
- Damage from pets, children, or misuse

8. Cancellation Policy
- Before work begins: If you cancel before we start work and before materials are ordered, your deposit will be refunded in full.
- After materials are ordered: If fabric or materials have already been ordered, the cost of those materials will be deducted from your deposit refund.
- After work has started: Once upholstery work has begun, the deposit is non-refundable. You will be responsible for the cost of materials and labor completed to date.
To cancel a project, contact us as soon as possible by phone or email.
9. Liability Limitations
